You think Spanish people goes to the city center of Barcelona to eat tapas? NOOOO, they are expensive and many times nasty and fake tapas.
If you ask me where’s the best Tapas bar EVER I will tell you without hesitate La Taberna de Ali Baba.
This place is awesome I discovered it because I actually did the web page of them and since then I’m every week drinking and eating the best tapas!
Ali Baba is a really Spanish restaurant, nothing to compare with the Tapas places that you can find in the city center that are always busy with tourist.
They have 16 years of experience making this place the best in many guides. They also speak English (not fluent but enough).
The restaurant is 2 floors more or less 100 persons sitting I guess and the decoration is AWESOME!, I talked to the owner and he explained to me that there’s some objects that there are more than 400 years old! there’s no price for that items!
The atmosphere is absolutely great! full of people of all ages, young people mostly that goes there to drink and eat a lot! is easy to end up partying with people from there since every body there is really happy!
I recommend to you the Menú of Tapas Ali Baba, I think it cost 48€ is for 4 persons (12€ person!!) and you will have more than enough!
To go there is really easy since the Blue Metro Line 5 (Horta) is just 100m around the corner (see map):
